Brand new cars can turn into junk cars faster than you think, especially if you don’t do your part to take proper care of it. If you want to get the most life out of your car, make sure to follow these general guidelines.
Get It Serviced
Taking your car in for routine oil changes will keep its efficiency high. If you aren’t sure how often your car’s oil needs to be changed, refer to the manual. It’s also important to keep things like your car’s engine and transmission properly taken care of; if you don’t, your car will die much quicker than it should.
Brake & Tire Maintenance
Brakes are one of the most important facets of your car. If you hear or feel anything abnormal with your brakes while you drive, get it serviced immediately. Also make sure to regularly check your tire pressure and change the tires when need be.
Only Drive When Necessary
The more miles you put on your car, the faster it will be run down. If you’re one to run a lot of errands, try to walk or bike whenever you can. Avoid taking tons of long road trips if possible.
Wash & Wax
Keep your car clean both on the outside and the inside to preserve its life. You can also wax it twice a year to keep the paint in good shape.
